Shiba Inu’s development team is cautioning holders about a rise in targeted scams designed to steal tokens through fake Discord servers.
According to the team, attackers are reclaiming expired invite links, setting up counterfeit channels, and urging users to “verify” their accounts by connecting wallets or authorizing malicious dApps. Once connected, wallets can be drained within minutes.
Community watchdog Shibarium Trustwatch noted that these setups often mimic SHIB’s official style so convincingly that even experienced holders could be fooled.
To avoid losses, developers insist that all links be confirmed via the official site, shib.io, and that users avoid rushing into wallet connections from unverified sources.
The warning followed a report of a compromised “Shiba Inu: Deployer 1” wallet, with developers clarifying that no legitimate ecosystem projects are tied to it. Any future tokens from that address should be treated as scams.
Building Through the TurbulenceSecurity concerns come as the team upgrades its Shibarium developer hub, offering clearer instructions for running validator nodes and building on its Ethereum Layer-2. The changes aim to broaden developer participation and strengthen decentralization.

The project is also preparing for a governance overhaul, with structured elections to appoint a lead visionary and DAO council members. While some view this as a step toward becoming a fully decentralized “digital network state,” others are calling for new leadership, citing dissatisfaction with current project lead Shytoshi Kusama’s communication.
For now, safeguarding wallets remains the community’s top priority — and developers urge holders to verify every link before acting.
