Ethereum’s recent rally has analysts talking, with Standard Chartered now forecasting the cryptocurrency could hit $7,500 by year-end - nearly double its earlier $4,000 projection.

The upgrade follows a wave of institutional activity that has pushed billions into newly launched U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Over the past week and a half, those ETFs have quietly absorbed $3.71 billion, reflecting sustained investor appetite. BlackRock’s ETHA has dominated the market share, with Fidelity, Grayscale, and Invesco also attracting steady inflows. This week alone brought several blockbuster sessions, including a $1.02 billion record day on Monday.

Despite the institutional surge, ETH eased 2.6% in the past 24 hours to $4,612 early Friday. Even so, it remains up more than 18% over the past week and came within striking distance of its all-time high earlier this week.

Traders note that while short-term volatility is likely, the combination of shrinking available supply, deep ETF demand, and a bullish macro backdrop could create conditions for a breakout later this year.

Ethereum isn’t the only digital asset seeing institutional flows. Spot bitcoin ETFs have also enjoyed consistent demand, bringing in $230.9 million on Thursday – more than double the previous day’s tally. The parallel momentum across both BTC and ETH products underscores a broader shift in how large investors are positioning in crypto markets.
