BTCMANAGER -

Skrill (formerly Moneybookers), a London-based centralized payments platform that claims to help users to facilitate cost-efficient money transfers across borders, has expanded its cryptocurrency trading service, integrating a new feature dubbed crypto-to-crypto, to allow its users to purchase the supported cryptoassets on its platform with bitcoin (BTC), reports EconoTimes on December 2, 2019.

Skrill Expands Crypto Offering

In a bid to make life easier for crypto enthusiasts on its platform, Skrill, a United Kingdom-headquartered payments platform created by Paysafe Group in July 2001, has added an exciting new feature to its existing crypto offering.

Per sources close to the matter, the highly reputed e-commerce company has now introduced the crypto-to-crypto feature, to make it possible for its customers to use their Bitcoin to buy and sell other supported virtual currencies on its platform.

Skrill said:

“Buying and selling crypto with Skrill just got even better. Introducing crypto-to-crypto , a new feature that allows you to use your bitcoin balance to purchase or sell supported cryptos including bitcoin cash (BCH).”

Skrill Boosting Bitcoin Adoption

As reported by BTCManager in July 2018, Skrill integrated cryptos into its processes, making it possible for users to seamlessly buy or sell a handful of digital currencies on its platform with more than 100 alternative payment methods and 40 fiat currencies supported by Skrill.

The payments processor previously hinted that it would expand its crypto offering to include peer-to-peer (P2P) crypto transfers, crypto payments at supported merchants and even integrate cryptos into NETELLER, its sister payments platform.

At current, users of Skrill can use their Skrill mobile wallet, which is available on both Android and iOS, to purchase the nine cryptocurrencies supported on the platform, including bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), XRP, ether (ETH), and litecoin (LTC).

With the swap feature now live on Skrill, it remains to be seen whether the firm will roll out other exciting features previously promised.

Commenting on the introduction of the new feature, Lorenzo Pellegrino, CEO of Skrill, NETELLER and Income Access at Paysafe noted that the new service is aimed at satisfying the yearnings of its customers.

“Crypto is an essential part of our digital wallets business and using our scale and wealth of experience in the payments ecosystem, we’re continually enhancing our service to help our customers to get the most out of the cryptoverse,” he added.

It’s worth noting that Skrill is not the only centralized payments platform that has joined the Bitcoin movement, as other firms including Square and a host of others have added support for cryptos.
